Wintery cocktails

When we think of cocktails, we think of summer and beach parties. They’re definitely a summer thing. But just because it’s cold outside, we won’t stop ourselves from drinking cocktails! We’ll just put a twist to them and make them suited for winter. Here are five delicious recipes for a good winter warm up.

Hot Rum Cider //If you have time can to make your own cider, but we keep it rather simple. Buy a bottle of apple cider, heat it, add rum and mix everything together with a cinnamon stick.

Chimney Fire // Warm up some apple cider and add amaretto. Give it extra flavor with cinnamon, whipped cream and caramel.

Mulled Wine // Combine wine, syrup and water in a pot. Take a clean dish towel and wrap around orange peel, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. Seal it with a cotton string and place the cloth in the wine. Cover the pot tightly and boil over high heat for two hours. The full recipe can be found here.

Hot Toddy // Pour your glass 3/4 full of black tea. Add: honey, two shots of brandy, whiskey or rum, and fresh lemon. Garnish with a lemon slice.

Hot Buttered Rum // Mix butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt together in a bowl. When it is stiffened in the refrigerator, take two spoons of the mix per mug, fill it halfway with rum and the latter half of boiling water. Click here for the full recipe.
